ARTISTIC PRACTICE

Trained in architecture and design, María has focused her practice on exploring the connections between color, material, emotion, and form. Through art—beyond the boundaries of design—she continues this inquiry with a body of work that flows between painting and sculpture, driven by a clear intent to dissolve the limits between creative disciplines.

In her pictorial works, executed in acrylic with expressive gestures and pronounced textures, each hue is infused with emotional intention. Titles such as Latent Empathy, Radiant Thoughts, or Natural Memory reveal the introspective nature of her approach, where color transcends the visual to evoke the intimate.

Alongside these pieces, María presents two vertical sculptures—contemporary totems—crafted from lacquered wood and intervened with materials commonly associated with interior design, such as handles, mirrors, or textiles. Expansive Gratitude and Incandescent Creativity rise as physical manifestations of essential emotions, articulated through an aesthetic that merges the tactile with the symbolic.

Formada en arquitectura y diseño, María ha centrado su práctica en investigar los vínculos entre color, materia, emoción y forma. A través del arte, más allá del diseño, continúa ese enfoque, con un cuerpo de trabajo que fluye entre la pintura y la escultura, en una clara voluntad de disolver los límites entre disciplinas creativas.

En sus obras pictóricas, ejecutadas en acrílico con gestos expresivos y texturas marcadas, cada tono está cargado de intención emocional. Títulos como Latent Empathy, Radiant Thoughts o Natural Memory revelan la dimensión introspectiva de su propuesta, donde el color trasciende lo visual para activar lo íntimo.

Junto a estas piezas, María presenta dos esculturas verticales —tótems contemporáneos— realizadas en madera lacada e intervenidas con materiales vinculados al diseño de interiores, como tiradores, espejos o tejidos. Expansive Gratitude y Incandescent Creativity se alzan como manifestaciones físicas de emociones esenciales, articuladas a través de una estética que combina lo táctil y lo simbólico.
